Obituary: Clydene (Burge) Weaver

Clydene (Burge) Weaver of Swifton, Arkansas, departed this life on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. She was born August 9, 1948, in Jackson County, the daughter of Clyde and Beatrice (Jackson) Burge.

Mrs. Weaver graduated from Swifton High School in 1969 and later attended beauty school. She worked at Bosch Tool Company for 30 years before retiring in 2013.

Mrs. Weaver enjoyed solving puzzles, watching Perry Mason, and indulging in Yarnell’s Real Vanilla ice cream. She loved spending time with her family and her beloved cat, Alice.

She was a member of the Swifton Church of Christ, where she was active in the Ladies’ Devotional.

Mrs. Weaver was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Burge; and two half-brothers, William Alvin Burge and Dale Burge.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Dean Weaver of the home; one son, Jimmy Weaver and wife, Kathy of Swifton; one daughter, Gloria Cunningham of Fisher; three grandchildren, Megan Weaver Hurt and husband, Chris, Jax Cunningham, and Liam Cunningham; one great-grandson, Lincoln Hurt; her mother, Beatrice Burge of Swifton; one sister, Mildred Prince of Jonesboro; one half-brother, Coy Ray Burge; several nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.

Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Swifton Church of Christ with Mr. Jon Fears officiating. Interment will follow at Swifton Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church, on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. until service.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Marty Harvey, Tommy Harvey, Robert Templeton, Bobby Holt, Brandon Bailey, and Richard Phillips.
