Frank Ellsworth Mertz, Jr., 83, departed this life on Tuesday, April 09, 2024. He was born on November 22, 1940, in Hamburg, Pennsylvania.
Frank was a steelworker and retired early from the Dana Corporation located in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. Frank served our country in the Navy.
Frank enjoyed fishing, traveling, and seeing nature sights such as waterfalls, He loved to go to yard and garage sales. If he saw someone cleaning out the garage he would stop and ask them what they had to sell. He loved watching wrestling and watching the Kansas City Chiefs. One of his life’s enjoyment was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter and caregiver, Michelle McKinney, of the home; daughter, Heather McGill, of Melbourne; sons, Charles Mertz, of Slatington, Pennsylvania, and Kevin Mertz, of Reading, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, Bethany, Montana, Raiven, Xander, Aryah, and Axton; two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Bryer.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Cynthia, and one brother.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Doty Southside Funeral Service, 2180 Batesville Blvd, Batesville, Arkansas 72501.
