Motorcycle accident in Stone County kills one, injures one

A motorcycle accident in rural Stone County over the weekend has left one man dead and another injured.

According to the Arkansas State Police Fatality Report, Jerry Hardin, 70, of Jonesboro, was killed, and Christopher Cook, 57, also of Jonesboro, was injured after their motorcycles collided around 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, April 13.

The report said both men were driving Harley-Davidson motorcycles, heading north on State Highway 9, when Hardin’s motorcycle collided with the rear of Cook’s cycle. The collision caused both motorcycles to leave the roadway.

State police said Cook was taken to NEA Baptist Hospital for his injuries. The report said the weather was clear, and the road condition was dry at the time of the accident.
