Obituary: Carolyn Sue Caldwell

Carolyn Sue Caldwell, beloved aunt and cherished member of the family, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 14, 2024, in Little Rock, AR. She was born on September 11, 1955 to Wanda (Harmon) Caldwell and James Robert Caldwell.

After graduating from Batesville High School in the early 70s, she embarked on a journey that led her to St. Louis, Missouri, where she pursued a career in the hospitality and restaurant industry. With her dedication to service, she thrived in her profession making many friends and memories along the way.

Later, Carolyn returned to Batesville to help in the family restaurant and to assist with her aging parents. Her commitment to family was unwavering and her presence brought comfort and joy to those she loved.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, many beloved aunts and uncles, a brother, Dale Caldwell, a sister, Sheila Caldwell and an adored niece, Carrie Brown. She is survived by her sister, Janet (Darrell) Brown, and one brother, Larry Caldwell, both from Batesville.

Though Carolyn had no children of her own, she is also survived and will be missed dearly by a host of nieces, nephews and great-nieces, who will forever treasure the memories they shared with her. She will be remembered for her love of animals, gentle spirit, sense of humor and generous heart.

Carolyn leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at Barnes Cemetery (1250 Bethesda Rd) on Friday, April 19th, 2024 at 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome to be made to the Humane Society of Independence County (www.hsicshelter.com) in honor of her love for animals.
