One man is facing two felony charges after authorities say he led law enforcement on a pursuit through two counties last week.

According to his arrest affidavit, 49-year-old Thomas Ray Hargo was spotted by Independence County Chief Deputy Aaron Moody on Locust Grove Road on May 1, driving an eastbound pickup truck, with two passengers, straddling both lanes.

After Moody attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the affidavit said Hargo continued onto Camp Tahkodah Road before accelerating and fleeing, heading up Hutchinson Mountain.

Hargo’s truck proceeded onto Camp Tahkodah Road and then Floral Road, traveling in the middle of the lane and forcing other vehicles off the road. The pursuit continued through Concord and toward Drasco before an Arkansas State Police trooper performed a tactical vehicle intervention on Hargo’s truck on Heber Springs Road. This intervention caused the truck to spin out of control and roll over.

Hargo and the other two occupants were taken into custody. According to the affidavit, Hargo, who has felony warrants from Mississippi and Pulaski County, was transported to White River Health along with one truck passenger, identified as Jessica Liles, for minor injuries.

Hargo was later transferred to the Independence County Jail. He faces one felony count of fleeing, one felony count of aggravated assault, and a misdemeanor count of reckless driving. Additionally, he is being charged as a habitual offender, and his bond has been set at $10,000. Liles was released with a misdemeanor charge of not wearing a seatbelt.

The other truck passenger, identified as Jordan Keehn, was taken to the Independence County Jail on a parole hold, according to the affidavit.
