Two Independence County juveniles, a male and a female, ended up in the county’s juvenile detention center last week after the female apparently took her mother’s car without permission. A third juvenile in the vehicle was release to their mother’s care.
The three were pulled over just south of the White River bridge in Batesville after authorities spotted them, according to the police report. The female is listed as a runaway at 13 while the male juvenile is listed as 16.
The two are facing possible charges including felony theft of an automobile, public intox, drugs (marijuana), and the 16-year-old faces a charge of driving without a license.
