Central Magnet Elementary teachers recently held a Christmas door decorating contest at the Batesville School. State representative James Sturch and Miss Independence County, Sharissa Herekamp, were the celebrity judges and chose as first place second-grade teacher Jessica Mead’s decoration featuring the Grinch in a chimney while second place winner was teacher Suzette Cowden with another Grinch-themed decoration on her door. And interventionist Pam Bullington came in third with her door which featured Christmas lights and music. Each of the door contest winners received gift certificates from the Parent Teacher Organization.
