Baby Xavior helped his mom, Rebecca, ring in the New Year in a special way. Xavior Robert Skala was the first baby of 2018 at White River Medical Center (WRMC) in Batesville. Delivered by Dr. Caroline Carlton, he was born on Jan. 2 at 8:34 a.m. and delivered by Dr. Caroline Carlton, weighing in at 7 pounds, 10.8 ounces, and was over 20 inches long.
Xavior has three big brothers, ages 9, 3 and 1, and Mom says the two older boys have been especially excited about Xavior’s arrival and will be a big help to their mom.
“Three out of four of my children have been born at WRMC,” said Rebecca. “Every experience was amazing.”
Rebecca is a resident of the Cave City area. Originally from Newport, she lived in California before returning to north central Arkansas.
“I was excited to find out that I was WRMC’s first mother to have a baby in the new year,” she said. “This has been a great way to start the year.”
Rebecca received a gift basket that included: lotions, diapers, wipes, a onesie donated by T-Shirt Express, a pacifier with stuffed animal holder donated by the WRMC Gift Shop, a “date night” package that includes two spaghetti dinners donated by the Italian Grill, and two movie passes donated by The Melba Theater.
Both Xavior and his mom are doing excellent and are excited to go home to start enjoying the New Year, according to WRMC.
