Charges filed against Cave City man in case of unresponsive infant

Calling the case “particularly disturbing,” the prosecuting attorney for Arkansas’ Third Judicial District has filed charges against a Cave City man in the case of an unresponsive 3-month old infant.

Prosecutor Henry Boyce filed the charges against Carl Adrian Ring, 30, who now faces First Degree Battery charges, a Class Y felony punishable by 10 to 40 years to life in prison.

The charges stem from an incident reported on Dec. 11 of last year when Allura Ring, the mother of a 3-month old child, called 911. An ambulance on the way to the White River Medical Center in Batesville with the child reported the 3-month old was unresponsive, pulseless and not breathing.

“This case is particularly disturbing in lieu of the apparent presence of previous trauma to the infant,” Boyce noted in a release from his office.
