Bethesda couple charged in court for marijuana and more

A Bethesda couple has been charged in Independence County Circuit Court with three drug-related felonies.

Bethany Edley, 39, and Bobby Bennett, 29, lived at a residence on Leaper Lane where law enforcement officers raided and found a marijuana growing and processing operation.

Court records say investigators discovered 32 pots containing marijuana plants along with a multitude of drug paraphernalia used to grow and process it.  The court document said one pan discovered in the kitchen contained unfinished marijuana candy. Both Edley and Bennett have been charged with manufacturing a controlled substance, namely marijuana, maintaining a drug premises, and possession of drug paraphernalia with the purpose to plant, grow, cultivate and harvest Marijuana.

Edley and Bennett are in custody with bonds set at $10,000 each.
