Greg Wallis has announced his intention to seek the office of Independence County Circuit Clerk as a Republican. Born and raised in Batesville, Wallis has worked for the past five years for Independence County.
“During my tenure in the Independence County Assessor’s Office, I have cross-trained in personal property, real estate, and 911 addressing,” Wallis said in a statement announcing his candidacy. “My continuing education courses include CAMA (Computer-Assisted Mass Appraisal) entry and reporting and a deed workshop which have helped prepare me to pursue this public service office of circuit clerk. Previous experiences include working in government contracting with the duties of a quality lab technician, quality engineer, and later, the supervisor of 8-10 employees.”
A 1980 graduate of Batesville High School, Wallis has been married to his wife, Trilla, for 23 years. The couple has two sons, two daughters, and nine grandchildren and attends The Compass Church.
“Because of my love of family, church, and community, along with my previous work experiences, I will be able to serve the public with the utmost dedication and professionalism,” said Wallis. “I thoroughly enjoy working with the public and would appreciate the support to become a public servant in the office of circuit clerk.”
