Paxson named WRMC Administrator

A new administrator will handle the day-to-day hospital operations at White River Medical Center (WRMC).

Gary Paxson, RN, BSN, MS has been named White River Medical Center Administrator, according to Gary L. Bebow, the CEO of White River Health System (WRHS).

As WRHS CEO, Bebow will lead system-wide initiatives to guide the organization.

“The rapidly changing healthcare environment requires organizations to focus on innovation, technology, and effective resource allocation. Mr. Bebow’s focus in these areas will ensure WRHS is well-positioned for future growth and continued success,” said Boris Dover, chairman of the WRHS Board of Directors.

Paxson has 23 years of healthcare experience.  His career includes positions in nursing, healthcare information systems, and executive management.  Paxson joined WRMC in 2012 as Chief Information Officer. In 2015, Paxson was named Chief Quality Officer. He led the development of quality protocols and reporting to improve patient outcomes and comply with quality reporting metrics including unintended readmission, antibiotic use, and hospital-acquired conditions.

“Gary has demonstrated exceptional ability to build consensus between administrative, clinical, financial, and operational teams,” said Bebow. “I am confident WRMC will continue to thrive with Gary as the administrator.”

Paxson earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Saint Anthony College of Nursing in Rockford, Ill., and a Master of Science in Information System Management – Healthcare Administration Concentration from Bellevue University in Bellevue, Nebraska.
