A large portion of northern Arkansas will be under a Winter Weather Advisory from 3 p.m. today until 6 a.m. tomorrow, according to the National Weather Service.

Freezing rain and some sleet are expected with total ice accumulations of up to two-tenths of an inch predicted, with the highest amounts generally located in Van Buren, Cleburne, Independence, Searcy, Stone, and Izard counties. The ice will result in difficult travel conditions.

Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
