independence-county-sheriff-3

After a routine traffic stop, a Camden, Ark., man has been charged in Independence County Circuit Court with a gun felony.

John Benjamin Gulley, 35, was stopped for not having a vehicle tag, according to court information. As a result, Gulley was also charged with two more traffic violations and a drug misdemeanor: possession of paraphernalia to smoke marijuana.  And, during a check of the vehicle, a handgun was found with the serial number filed off — which is a felony.

Gulley was taken to jail on Feb. 11 and charged with the felony the next day. Gulley’s court history shows multiple failures to appear in court, according to the Circuit Court information.

In order to be released from jail, Gulley will have to post a $15,000 bond.
