The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved a bid of improvements to a roadway in Izard County, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.
The purpose of the project is to resurface selected sections of approximately 2 miles of County Road 55 and approximately 1.3 miles of Country Road 61.
Atlas Asphalt, Inc. of Batesville was awarded the contract at $424,811.06.
Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in mid-2018.
