news-background-1

A Bryant, Ark. man is in jail on drug charges after Mountain View police responded to a call from a local gas station regarding some “strange activity” going on in an adjoining parking lot.

Mountain View Police were dispatched to the Murphy Gas station in the Walmart parking lot, Friday night, March 9, after a caller reported “strange activity going on between two vehicles in parking lot.”

Authorities spoke with the gas station attendant who told them that there was some talk of a drug transaction while two men were standing in front of the cashier’s window attempting to pay for gas.

A K-9 unit was requested at the scene and upon inspection into a vehicle driven by Ryan Spencer Reilly, 27, of Bryant, officers found a syringe and several plastic baggies with the ends ripped off along with two baggies that had marijuana residue inside them, according to court documents. A metal spoon was found, as well, with a white crystalline substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine. A search of the immediate area around the vehicles found another needle and more baggies in a trash can that matched the ones already confiscated.

Reilly was then taken into custody and charged with three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance, all felonies. Reilly was also driving on a suspended or revoked license which is a misdemeanor.
