A bench warrant has been issued in Independence County Circuit Court on a Cave City man for felony possession of drugs after being clocked at 100 mph on a motorcycle.

On Friday, March 9, Arkansas State Trooper Michael Woodward conducted a traffic stop on N. Hwy. 69 of a man on a motorcycle that was observed by radar traveling at a speed of 100 mph in a 55 mph zone, according to court documents.

During the stop, Trooper Woodward detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the driver who was identified as Tyler Steven Staggs of Cave City. Staggs, 26, admitted that he was carrying a baggie of marijuana and a baggie of methamphetamine, according to court information. Both baggies were confiscated, and Staggs was taken to jail and charged on a $2,500 bond.
