Independence County Sheriff Shawn Stephens has sent out a big “Thank You” to other law enforcement agencies who assisted his department in regard to the death of Chief Deputy Jeff Sims.
Sheriff Stephens said this morning, March 21, that he is grateful for the assistance from the Batesville Police Department, Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, Arkansas State Police, District Drug Task Force, Probation & Parole and other agencies who gave their assistance. Stephens said, as of today, his department is back in full force.
He noted that White County deputies will patrol the county during the funeral services today with Jackson County helping on the eastern side.
