In a special meeting tonight, the Batesville School Board will be proposed a project that is designed to bring the district to better efficiency and increase its revenue.

Dr. Michael Hester, superintendent for the Batesville School District, said the project involves:

  • Improvements and changes in the lighting system to LED lighting, including a 6,200 bulb change out…
  • Replacing some heating and cooling systems and placing all on a centrally computerized system
  • Installing multi-purpose solar panels
  • And making improvements and savings involving water fixtures and water consumption.

Dr. Hester says it is a $5.4 million project across 20 years with an expected financial improvement of over $1.8 million.

The school board will meet tonight (Monday, March 26) at 5:30 p.m. at the District Administration Center in the suite C boardroom at 955 Water St.
