Downtown Batesville will be busy for the next few weeks, according to Bob Carius with the Main Street Batesville board.
First Community Bank is scheduled to begin renovation today of the Platter Inn building for their Main Street branch bank. The renovation will take several weeks, according to Carius, with the branch opening later this year.
The Independence County Library’s renovation of the Barnett Building is on schedule and should be completed this month with the library locating to that facility sometime in June.
Citizens Bank has acquired the Pocket Part and intends to make improvements in it for a more enjoyable use of the park for public events.
And, the Batesville Downtown Foundation’s renovation of their building is moving forward and could have a new business located there by mid-May, noted Carius.
