When Stone County Sheriff Lance Bonds and his investigators were dispatched to a structure fire Wednesday, April 4, not only did they find a house on fire, but also found a naked man standing next to the home, watching it burn.

The man, later identified as Foy Densmore, 56, of Mountain View, was observed by authorities standing next to the house, which was fully engulfed in flames, acting “excited and giddy.” Densmore allegedly stated to the authorities, “I burned it to the ground,” in what was described as “an excited utterance.”

At this point, Densmore was handcuffed by Investigator Sean Hickman and placed in the back of a patrol vehicle. Densmore was transported to the Stone County Detention Center for booking and holding.

During a post-Miranda interview, Densmore stated he was upset because he had been asked to leave the residence therefore, he set fire to the residence and burned it. Densmore has been charged with arson, a Class Y felony. He is in custody awaiting a bond.

Sheriff Bonds stated that the damage to the residence, located at 609 Sawmill Rd., appears to be a total loss.
