siren-3

A traffic stop Tuesday by Independence County Sheriff Shawn Stephens on a pickup truck yielded charges on three individuals.

The front seat passenger, Tim Collins, was found to have a warrant for his arrest out of Independence County and was taken into custody.

A back seat passenger, Sharon K. Durham, wouldn’t cooperate with the Sheriff and Investigator Aaron Moody and was taken into custody after resisting arrest struggling with Moody, according to authorities.

The driver, Sarah Bray, gave Sheriff Stephens permission to make a search.  Found in her purse was a set of new digital scales and seven syringes. She was charged with unsafe operations of a vehicle, expired tags, and possession of an instrument of crime.  She was cited and released on a court date.

Durham was charged with resisting arrest, obstructing a governmental operation, and disorderly conduct.
