Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson will be visiting the Batesville High School campus next Tuesday, April 17, to talk about computer coding. The governor wants students across the state to be offered the opportunity to learn coding and have the availability to make it a career.

So far at BHS, three seniors have been named the Governor’s Distinguished Scholars.

Gov. Hutchinson is scheduled to visit our White River Now studios that afternoon to talk with us about issues facing the state and the progress made during his time in office.

Meanwhile, at Batesville Junior High, the ninth and tenth grade “Odyssey of the Mind” team qualified for World Finals to be held in Iowa.  Also, some ninth-grade students went to Heber Springs recently to hear the Arkansas Supreme Court Appeals on Wheels.  After the hearing, Arkansas Supreme Court Justice Jo Hart took time to visit with the students and answer questions.
