Recently celebrating her 97th birthday, Halene Williams went to sleep and entered Heaven on Wednesday, April 11, 2018.

She accepted Jesus as her Savior at 16, depending on His Love and Grace throughout her life. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was born in Lafferty, Arkansas on April 2, 1921, the sixth of eight children born Jesse and Ethel Harkleroad. They were Ray Harkleroad, Hattie Harkleroad, Nadine Williams, Hayden Harkleroad, Dovie Huckaba, Opal Freeman and Jerva Harkleroad and all preceded her in death. She loved her siblings and treasured happy times spent with them. Halene met her husband, James Ola Williams while he was driving a “rolling store.” They had a sweet love story of 59 years before he preceded her in death in 2001.

She was a very nurturing homemaker who provided a home filled with love and good cooking! She and J.O. happily retired back in Arkansas from Oklahoma in 1978. They spent their remaining years making special memories with family and friends.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Dale McCoy; her granddaughter, Mindy and husband, Mark Sinor; and three great-grandsons, Matthew, Micah and Mnason Sinor, that brought her such joy and pride! She is survived by many nieces, nephews and friends that she loved dearly.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, April 16, 2018 at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville. Burial will follow at Maple Springs Cemetery in Rosie.

There will be no visitation.
