Downtown Art Walk to be held Friday


Get downtown this weekend to explore the arts! The Batesville Area Arts Council is collaborating with Lyon College art students to host an Art Walk on Main Street Friday,

April 27 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. The event is a self-guided viewing of artwork in Downtown Batesville, and is FREE and open to the public for all ages.

The Batesville Area Arts Council’s Gallery on Main (226 E Main) will host a reception that evening for their 6th Annual National Juried Exhibition. This year’s exhibition features the work of 18 artists from 6 different states. Awards will be announced starting at 6 p.m. This year’s award sponsors are Citizens Bank, First Community Bank, Merchants & Planters Bank, and Wood Family Dealerships.

Lyon College students from Eric Bork’s, Painting II class will have their artwork displayed on the 3rd floor of Lander’s Theater (332 E Main), and Gallery 246 (243 E Main) will host a reception for their featured artist Stanley M. Cole. Call 870-793-3382 for more information.
