The Cave City SkillsUSA club held a benefit “Color Fun Run and Walk” in the Green Acres neighborhood in Cave City, Saturday, March 31.

Over 130 Cave City area participants showed up and were ready to support two Cave City School family members who had recently been diagnosed with cancer. Charley Clinton, transportation director, and Mark Crouch, maintenance director, have amassed some hefty medical expenses with their respective treatments.

When Maddie Verser, a Cave City SkillsUSA officer, heard the news regarding Clinton and Crouch, she immediately suggested a fundraiser to help them. Her idea was a “Color Fun Run.”

Verser, along with another SkillsUSA officer, Ralynnda March, went about organizing the event and getting fellow member volunteers to help run the event.

The event raised $4,000 and that was shared between the two men. Both men were presented with their checks by the Cave City SkillsUSA club.
