Gary Paxson, administrator at the White River Medical Center (WRMC) administrator, is pleased to welcome Deborah Jankowski as Director of Surgical Services.
Jankowski leads the Surgical Services team, which includes surgical pre-admission, pre-operative/post-operative care, operating rooms/endoscopy suites, and central sterile processing. She is responsible for operational performance including clinical quality, patient satisfaction, resource allocation, and staffing.
Jankowski has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Eastern Michigan University. She is pursuing a graduate degree at Central Michigan University. Her work experience includes intensive care, general medical/surgical care, operating rooms, and preoperative care/recovery and pain clinic. Jankowski has held many leadership positions including clinical manager, director of nursing, and director of surgical services.
“Deborah’s diverse experience makes her a great fit for the position,” said Paxson. “She offers a fresh perspective that will enable WRMC further improve and expand our Surgical Services.”
“I enjoy the challenges that come with meeting the needs of patients in a safe and efficient manner,” said Jankowski. “I am eager to work with the excellent team of nurses, anesthesia providers, and surgeons who make up the Surgical Services Department. I believe we can achieve our goals through collaborative engagement with patients, staff, physicians, and leadership.”
