A day after the company reported a $9 million investment in a new plant in rural Tennessee, Mountain View-based Excel Boat Company is now expanding its Mountain View plant, according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. (Read the Dem-Gaz article here.)
Dave Reynolds, national sales manager for Excel, says the company will spend $1.9 million on an expansion and add 30 jobs. He said the expansion will add 35,000 square feet. The Mountain View plant currently covers 42,000 square feet and employs 75. Reynolds added that the expansion will allow the company to build a boat every 90 minutes.
