A piece of human bone recently found in the Jamestown Loop area led to the discovery of more human remains.
Independence County Sheriff Shawn Stephens told White River Now this morning the discovery of a piece of human bone in a rural area of Jamestown Loop led him to form a search team using cadaver dogs over the weekend that eventually led to finding more human remains.
Those remains were taken to the state crime lab. DNA results could possibly help in the process of identification, according to Sheriff Stephens.
There have been least two missing persons in the county in the last year and a half, authorities noted.
