Construction of a new storm drainage system will require the closure of Case Street near 14th Street in Batesville beginning Tuesday, May 29. The closure is expected to end in less than a week.

The new storm drainage system will facilitate more efficient run-off of rainwater from the site of the new Citizens Bank headquarters building, which is currently under construction along St. Louis Street at Case and Lyon streets.

The drainage project is being coordinated by Clark Contractors of Little Rock with local subcontractors, in consultation with the Arkansas State Highway Department and the City of Batesville, according to Mike Mills, project superintendent for Clark Contractors.

“Citizens Bank appreciates the patience and cooperation of the citizens of Batesville who live, work and drive in the neighborhoods near our new financial service center,” said Phil Baldwin, CEO of Citizens Bank. “We look forward to serving our customers from our new headquarters.”
