news-background-1-16

It happened on Campbell Lane in Independence County. A woman reports to the sheriff’s department that a man she did not know ran inside her residence, fearing for his life, saying unidentified “armed” individuals were chasing him. The woman, Amy Cruse, who owned the residence said she did not know the man, so she ran into her bedroom, locked the door and ran out the back when she heard him entered the residence.

After an investigation, deputies said the man, 25-year-old Rodney Yocum, address unknown, unlawfully entered Cruse’s residence and was carrying some marijuana in a pipe, which was found on him during a pat down, according to authorities.

Deputies also said Yocum was intoxicated from some substance which was causing him to act irrationally.

Yocum was taken to jail and is facing three charges which include: possession of a controlled substance, public intoxication, and criminal trespass.
