Concord High School recognized for math scores

Last week, the Office for Education Policy (OEP) at the University of Arkansas recognized Concord High School as a school that showed high growth on the math portion of the ACT Aspire exam.

The OEP recognizes various high-performing Arkansas schools each year, and this year they chose to recognize schools who showed high growth. According to a congratulatory email sent to district superintendent Dr. Amanda Britt and high school principal Scott Whillock, the OEP thinks “growth is the best indicator of the positive impact that your school is having on students.”

The awards were based on the 2017 ACT Aspire scores, and these growth scores reflect how much students at the school improved from 2016 compared to how much they were expected to grow considering prior achievement.

The OEP releases an Outstanding Educational Performance Awards report each year, and the school’s name is featured in the high school math section. A copy of the reports can be found by clicking here.
