The disagreement between Independence County Sheriff Shawn Stephens and Independence County Judge Robert Griffin over the use of community service workers has apparently led to a combined meeting of the county’s Law Enforcement and Solid Waste committees to be held this afternoon.
The disagreement came to light during the June 12 meeting of the Independence County Quorum Court.
The combined meeting is set for 5 p.m. today at the Independence County Courthouse.
It is a meeting open to the public.
