When the number of accumulating infractions of the law stopped, it was 13 felony counts and six misdemeanor counts against 45-year-old Kristopher Ian Miller of Stone County.

Police became involved on June 6 when a Famous Lane man, Robert Ferguson, reported a burglary and theft. He was moving, and one of his homes was not occupied for a few days. On his return, Ferguson discovered the burglary and theft of hundreds of dollars in guns, crossbows, compound bows, a rangefinder, and more.

When Mountain View Police Lt. Jeremy Beaudin followed up on the break-in and theft, a suspect or suspects became known.  Both suspects, 45-year-old Kristopher Ian Miller and Melissa Maulden had active warrants for their arrests.

Through information from Maulden, the stolen items from the Ferguson residence were all found in a rundown, unoccupied trailer, actually located behind Ferguson’s new address, according to authorities.

Information from Maulden also helped locate stolen property from other locations, Beaudin noted. Property was recovered from a total of five break-ins, including a residence, a commercial business storage building, and three other storage buildings, said Beaudin.

Maulden told police that Miller was on methamphetamine, and he would go out and steal and bring the items back and sell the property or trade it for drugs.

Miller is charged with residential burglary; two counts of possession of firearms by certain persons; commercial burglary; three counts of breaking or entering; five counts of felony theft; five counts of misdemeanor theft; and possession of drug paraphernalia, one felony count and one misdemeanor count.

Prosecutors are asking that Miller be tried under the Habitual Offender Act, since he has previously been convicted of four or more felonies.

Miller’s bond was set at $25,000.
