A confrontation with another man on Webb Acres Drive in Stone County resulted in 29-year-old Larry Branscum being jailed and charged with felony terroristic threatening as well as two misdemeanors — criminal mischief in the first degree and endangering the welfare of a minor in the third degree, according to authorities.

Branscum had apparently been accused of taking money from a woman who lives in the area. During the confrontation, Branscum is accused of threatening the man who said he took the money.

The court record said the incident occurred on June 26 with Branscum apparently head-butting the driver’s side window of the other man’s vehicle, causing glass to shatter over the car’s interior.  It was noted that a young child was in the vehicle at the time of the incident. However, no one was reported injured in the incident.

The court information said Branscum left the scene but was found a short time later by authorities, sitting on the side of the road. At that time the arresting officers said the defendant’s behavior included talking incessantly, repeating the same information multiple times, having the inability to stop moving, and had many minor scrapes on his body. The officers said the behavior was consistent with controlled substance use.

Branscum is in custody and on a $15,000 bond.
