AP: Cherokee Village man faces over 50 counts of rape and other counts involving children

The Associated Press (AP) is reporting 36-year-old Joey D. Robbins of Cherokee Village was being held Monday at the Sharp County Jail, facing more than 50 counts of rape after admitting to investigators he repeatedly sexually assaulted a young girl over a two-year period.

Robbins faces dozens of other counts that include engaging children in sexually explicit conduct.

The AP notes the court affidavit says Robbins admitted to “making some bad choices.”
