An area woman has been charged with aggravated assault with a butcher knife against her ex-boyfriend.
In the affidavit of probable cause for arrest, Det. Fred Friar with the Batesville Police Department said he conducted an investigative interview with the suspect, 23-year-old Sheila Reyes.
Friar advised that she waived her Miranda Rights and admitted to entering James Neal’s residence. She said she picked up a butcher knife from the kitchen sink and held it in her hand to intimidate Neal. Neal said she threatened to stab him with it.
The charge against Reyes is a Class D felony. Reyes has been taken into custody and is incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail.
