A Stone County man was sentenced by Judge Tim Weaver to 15 years in the state penitentiary for selling drugs.

37-year-old Stephen McCarroll (pictured above) entered a negotiated plea of guilty to possession of a controlled substance — namely methamphetamine — with the purpose to deliver; possession of a firearm by a certain person; possession of drug paraphernalia with the purpose to analyze; and theft of property of over $1,000 but less than $5,000.

In addition to 15 years in prison, McCarroll was fined $2,500 plus court and other costs of $895.

He was given credit for 51 days jail time.
