Under a warrant, Mountain View police took a Mountain View man into custody Monday morning, July 30, on a charge of sexual indecency with a child.
On Sunday, July 29, Mountain View Police Chief Bobby Day met with a young female under the age of 16 who had reported an incident involving sexual indecency with a child.
During the interview, authorities determined that over the course of 14 months the minor and 38-year-old Timothy McCrobie had developed a relationship involving phone calls and text messaging.

According to the information in the warrant for arrest, McCrobie, in the approximate 14 months, entered into several acts that violated the Sexual Indecency With a Child law.
For instance, one day while at the residence of McCrobie, the juvenile female was talked into playing “Truth or Dare.”
Also, over that period of time, McCrobie admitted to sending text messages to the minor, and from time to time, calling her and having phone sex with her.
McCrobie is now in custody and has been placed on a $15,000 bond by Judge Lance Wright.
Chief Day told White River Now he has reason to believe there are other victims of Timothy McCrobie, saying: “I am hoping that with this news, anyone who may have been a victim of McCrobie will come forward and visit with us so we can bring justice to other victims.”
