Independence County Sheriff Shawn Stephens said some suspects have been identified, and the investigation is moving forward on the burning of six vehicles early last Saturday morning at a used car lot in Southside. (Click here for the previous story.)

The Southside Fire Department and the sheriff’s department were called to the Batesville Boulevard location of Batesville Auto Center. The business is located adjacent to the Sonic fast food restaurant. The sheriff said it was apparent that someone had set fires to all six vehicles.

When asked, the sheriff said certainly disgruntled customers or potential customers along with disgruntled former employees are all a possibility of being a suspect. He did not say how the current suspects fit into the possibilities.
