An Independence County man may face several charges including felony fleeing after he is accused of driving his vehicle in a reckless manner past an emergency vehicle, almost hitting deputies working a traffic stop.
Deputy Adam McGilton chased the Toyota and in the process was able to identify the driver as Bill W. Scroggins, Jr., according to the official report. The vehicle was found in a wooded area off Creek Road, but Scroggins had abandoned the car and fled on foot.
McGilton said the charges facing Scroggins include: felony fleeing, first-degree assault, reckless driving, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and failure to signal.
