A Stone County man who was taken into custody last week after a high-speed chase is now facing multiple charges from the incident. (Click here to listen to Stone County Sheriff Lance Bonds discuss the pursuit.)

Jeremiah Knott, 36, has been charged in Stone County Circuit Court with 12 counts of violating the law.

Knott had been wanted for some time and was spotted by Investigator Brad Breeding at Highway 14 East and South Bayou Drive. Knott began running, at times at speeds in excess of 100 m.p.h. in his truck and eventually got on Iron Mountain Road.

That’s where he wrecked and then ran on foot. Tracking dogs from the Calico Rock Prison were called in and in a matter of minutes, the dogs and handlers were back on Iron Mountain Road with Knott in tow.

Knott is charged with: three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia; three counts of aggravated assault; one count of failure to appear in circuit court; two counts of fleeing one in a vehicle and the other on foot; possession of a controlled substance (marijuana); and reckless driving.

Knott will also be tried under the Habitual Offender Act, as he has previously been convicted of four or more felonies. He is in jail and was placed on a $10,000 bond.
