Stone County man gets 75 years in prison for sex crimes

ming-2

A negotiated plea of guilty has been signed by a Stone County man and Prosecuting Attorney Holly Meyer which carries a long-term prison sentence.

The plea agreement calls for 38-year-old Matthew Ming to be sentenced to 900 months (or 75 years) in prison for the 19 counts of sexual assault in the second degree with which he was charged.

Ming told the court he waived his right to a jury trial and made the plea voluntarily.

He admitted in court he drugged his “partner,” had sex with her, and made videos in the process.

Circuit Court Judge Tim Weaver delayed his sentencing of Ming until he allowed the victim to make a statement in court. He set that action for tomorrow, Aug. 14, in Stone County Circuit Court.

A bond will not be allowed for Ming since he has agreed to the 75-year prison sentence.
