The Batesville Area Arts Council (BAAC) is presenting Beauty as Form: artwork by Carly Dahl. The exhibition will be on display at the BAAC Gallery on Main, 226 E Main St, through Sept. 29, 2018.

Dahl was born and raised in Monroe, Mich. and relocated to Batesville in 2010, where she is currently the executive director of BAAC. Her work focuses on the ideas and ideals of beauty and unattainable representations of women in society, noted a press release announcing the event.

The exhibition features paintings and prints with hand drawn details, as well as an installation of small dresses handmade from magazine pages. Dahl’s work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions including The Art Department at the THEA Foundation in North Little Rock, the Butler Center in Arkansas Studies Institute in Little Rock, the Historic Arkansas Museum, Memphis Connections at Marshall Art Center in Memphis and the Memphis Unveil in downtown Memphis.

The gallery reception for this exhibition will be held on Friday, Aug. 24, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a brief artist talk at 6 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public. This exhibition is sponsored by First Community Bank. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
