A 40-year-old Stone County woman has been charged with theft of jewelry in Stone County Circuit Clerk.

The court information says on Aug. 1, 2018, Erica Taylor entered a residence on Chabeau Point Loop and stole some jewelry valued at $25,000. Also stolen, but not attributed to Taylor, was a .22-caliber, nine-shot pistol, nickel-plated, and valued at $500.

According to the court information, Taylor, in an interview at the Stone County Sheriff’s Department, admitted to taking the jewelry. Police say she also admitted to selling four pieces of the jewelry to a man for $100 and hiding the rest in a broken dishwasher sitting on the back porch of a friend’s residence.

Erica Taylor has been charged in Circuit Court with: one count of theft of property; one county of residential burglary; and one count of breaking or entering.

Her bond has been set at $20,000.
