Izard County Sheriff’s chief deputy, Ernie Blackley, says the sheriff’s department has been receiving numerous reports of scams over the phone and internet, including Facebook.
Blackley said some of the numbers used to call residents appear to be local numbers, but they are actually calling from foreign countries such as India.
The chief deputy said you should not give out any personal information over the phone or internet, including Facebook. He said the information can be used to access your banking accounts and take your money or open credit cards in your name.
