Batesville Area Chamber president/CEO named Outstanding Chamber Executive


The president and chief executive officer of the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce has been recognized as the Outstanding Chamber Executive of the Year by the Arkansas Economic Developers & Chamber Executives.

The recognition came during the group’s annual luncheon and awards ceremony held in Fayetteville, Ark. on Monday, Aug. 27.

The award recipient, Crystal Johnson, is CEO of the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce, a 500-member organization dedicated to community and economic development. Johnson celebrated her ninth year at the chamber in July.

Johnson’s most recent accomplishments include the development of a countywide strategic plan for Independence County, known as IMPACT. The grassroots initiative was developed with community input from more than 1,500 citizens and was released in 2016. IMPACT addresses four principal areas of community development including: tourism, economic development, education, and healthy living/wellbeing.
