newsbackground-1-55

An arrest warrant has been issued for a Batesville man for 63 counts of forgery.

The charges filed in Independence County Circuit Court were against 29-year-old Nelson Clay Greenfield.

The court information says that between May 8, 2017 and July 31, 2018, Greenfield made 66 transactions on White River Material’s account at O’Reilly Auto Parts in Batesville.

Three of those transactions were cash sales with one cash refund. The other 63 transactions were charged to White River Material’s account in the amount of $9,486.55.

The court records said three employees at O’Reilly Auto Parts advised a representative of White River Materials that Greenfield was the individual that was signing another man’s initials to the tickets. Greenfield was picked out of a photo lineup of six people with similar characteristics.

Once Greenfield is taken into custody, he will be placed on a bond by a local judge.
