Authorities: Two different men arrested for carrying meth within an hour

cuffs-2-6

Within an hour two men were taken into custody on Monday by the Arkansas Community Corrections Department — both for being in possession of a controlled substance.

While driving past an apartment complex in the 500 block of Heber Springs Road, authorities say Agent Brian Gould and Officer Corey McCullough saw a probationer who had not reported to probation/parole since being released from jail. 48-year-old Adam Jennings McDaniel was stopped and checked and found to be in possession of meth in one pocket and a glass smoking pipe in the other.

He was taken into custody. His charges will be possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.

Minutes later, the officers made contact with another probationer, 69-year-old Larry Allen Finney. When his vehicle was pulled over at the complex, Gould saw Finney try to conceal a baggie. When Gould grabbed Finney’s arm, Finney’s foot apparently slipped on the accelerator causing the vehicle to jump forward and strike a portion of the apartment complex.

When Finney opened his hand, Gould found the baggie contained meth, report authorities.

Finney was taken into custody. His charge will be possession of meth.

All charges on the two are felonies.
