Independence County Sheriff: Stolen delivery truck found

siren-22

Gary B. and White River Now reported yesterday (click here for the story) of two vehicles that had been stolen over the weekend.

One vehicle was recovered by the Independence County Sheriff’s Department in a matter of hours, and the other had not yet been recovered. That vehicle was a delivery truck owned by Stubbs Home Center at Southside.

However, Independence County Sheriff Shawn Stephens reports (Oct. 23) the delivery truck was recovered around 5 a.m. yesterday.

The culprits drove the vehicle to the “old pole plant,” northeast of Batesville and parked it beside the building. The sheriff said the building’s surveillance cameras were working at the time.

Sheriff Stephens said the case is still under active investigation.

Stephens told Gary B. the best thing those culprits could do would be to turn themselves in.
